Does Your Fireplace Need an Overhaul?

Mantel Replacement

If your mantel is a bit small, or reflects the style you liked twenty years ago, then consider upgrading the wood to a style that reflects your tastes.  You can probably think about increasing its size, as well.

Replace Brass Fixtures

Although shiny brass was popular in the 80’s and 90’s, it can date your fireplace.  Consider replacing it, or if your budget is limited, then paint it (keeping in mind that you’ll need a paint that can withstand the heat of the fire.)

Re-stain Oak

While light oak was oh, so popular a few decades ago, consider stripping and re-staining that mantel to a darker stain.  We think you’ll be astonished at what a difference it can make.

Fireplace Refurbishment

Sometimes exposed brick can really date your home’s appearance.  After all, it’s undoubtedly the focal point of your room.  Consider lightening up the room and painting the brick, or replacing it with a more cohesive material.
